Our theme for Pechanga 2021 was “LET’S GIVE IT A GO.” Well, from May 24th through May 28th, we really did give it a go!

Luckily, just prior to our arrival date, some COVID-19 regulations were relaxed by the county, the RV campground and the casino. This allowed us a little more flexibility in how we were able to gather together. Even with some restrictions still in place, we still had over 35 RV sites reserved through LAFRA. In addition, there were additional spots rented by other retired members that allowed them to arrive earlier or stay later. Nearly a hundred members had the opportunity to catch up with old friends or to make new ones.
On Monday, the spirit of volunteerism became very evident as many were involved in helping set up the clubhouse for the coming days. Tuesday was the day of the wine tour. Judging by the pictures, everyone had a great time. That evening, LAFRA provided a great pizza and salad dinner. Thanks to all who helped serve the food and drinks, especially our trustees and their wives. Wednesday was the day to meet our member service representatives from LAFRA, Pensions, LARFPA, FFCU, Kaiser and Anthem Blue Cross. People also had a chance to purchase T-shirts, sweatshirts, and hats from Kelly’s T-shirts. A special thanks to Wendy and Jack Wise who provided unique adult beverages at their RV spot as well hosting the Karaoke Night. That night, nearly a hundred people were fed a delicious dinner from Dukes Mesquite Broiler. The evening entertainment was provided by Steve Berkery and Steve Ruda.— one made you laugh, while the other one made you cry! A big thanks to all who bought golf ball tickets. Thursday was a day to recoup and enjoy some live music while a potluck was dished out topped off by some exotic adult beverages poured courtesy of the Magas!
Thanks to everyone involved who helped pull this off. This includes our members, trustees (their wives) and our LAFRA staff. See you next year!
