Captain Paccione was at FS 82 when I arrived, Jim Porter was his bullet engineer. Cool, calm and collected is right! Never a hair out of place, even after a structure fire – not sure how he managed to do that. He loved his family and spoke of them often – if I remember correctly, at the time, “Georgie” was the youngest. Every now and then he’d drive his split window black Corvette to work – quite the classic. My condolences to the Paccione family. May God bless you with comfort and peace.

Rocky was a complete class act. Making relief with him in the morning was the highlight of the day. We shared many laughs and family stories together. His family was much bigger than mine and his stories were much better. RIP and Arrivederci my friend.

Rocco was my Skipper at FS 82-C in 1989. Rocco had 9 kids at home and 5 more in the engine house and He always managed our youthful exuberance and chaos with his calm, cool, and fun loving demeanor. My Condolences to Sue and the Paccione Clan.
    Rest Well, Sir!

Rocky was a solid Captain. I was on a different shift, but worked with many shifts. I would always ask him how he avoided special duty. He would never say how. Whatever his secret, it worked. bob neamy

Rocky was a friend, co worker, neighbor and golfing buddy. Like others have mentioned, he did not have a hair out of place, no matter if it was two in the afternoon or two in the morning. Truly one of the nicest guys I have ever worked with. He loved his family. My condolences to Sue and the entire Paccione Family.

Sad news came today upon hearing of our loss of Captain I Rocco Paccione. A Great friend on and off the job.
Rocky and I shared many stories of our growing up since our birthdays were only 8 weeks apart. We were both
fortunate to drive new Pontiac GTOs to high school and both of us always loved cars. Our families would get
together at home and at 82s for holidays. We watched each other’s kids grow up. May God’s Love and Peace always be with Susie and the kids.

Battalion 5 and 82’s was a buzy place in the late 80’s. Jimmy Porter drove that pristine engine like a rocket thru a tight district built for model T’ Fords, mostly with no mishaps…… With a fast pace of Emergency responses, training, and community activities I often heard Rocco get on the PA Say “Engine 82 On the Air” and we would be off! As I moved on in assignments, I would check in with Rocco and try to convince him to transfer to slower a slower Fire Station. Rocco resisted for years, finally moving to 101’s years later after He and JIm Porter built their Family compounds in God’s Country. I am Thankful, Rocco and Wendy Cummings are resting in the Lord and to have been part of “Rocco’s Clan”.

Sad news indeed. Rocky was the Captain you wanted on every call you went on. Always calm and trusting of his crew to get the job done. I’m another of the old Hollywood Paramedics who will always be grateful to have worked with him for many years at FS 82s. And yes, give Wendy a hug for us up there. Rest easy Capt. Connie Anderson

So sorry to hear about Rocco. FS 4 was the best on all three shifts and made it my most memorable station. In 39 years never did beat the camaraderie and great times. Rocco was a huge part of making it a great station and the “C” shift a blast. Rocky you will be missed. Thank you for the brass key hole that completed Sheila’s jewelry box all those years ago. We will always remember you! Prayers for the entire Paccione family!

He always seemed to stay calm and trusting of his crew to get the job done right. He was a big reason I stayed at FS 82 for so many years. I’m one of those old Hollywood Paramedics who will hold Rocky in our hearts forever. Do give Wendy a hug for us. Rest easy Rocky.

Thank you so much for the kind condolences and comments about my incredible husband and hero!! The support our friends and family have shown has filled my heart with love and pride. The healing process will take a very long time, but all this love has helped the process to begin.

A very special thank you to Steve Ruda and Graham Everette. They have been an incredible support system; kind, thoughtful and compassionate. LAFD and the Relief Association is very fortunate to have such leaders!!

I am so sorry to hear about Rocco’s passing. I worked with him at 4’s and in Batt. 8. He always had a smile and pleasant HELLO . I remember one time when Rocky sang a song and Mike Sauber played the spoons to a song that they made up about a certain FF at 4’s. It was a crack up.

RIP Rocco… you will be missed..
