When I first promoted to BC, Keoki was my staff assistant in Battalion 2. He was funny, competent and well respected. When I was notified this morning of his sudden passing I was numb. My prayers go out to his family in these difficult times. Aloha my brother, until we meet again.

Keoki was one of my investigators, when I was on Special Duty in the Personal History Unit. He was instrumental in making my special duty tour a pleasurable experience. Later we had some fun times at 76’s.
    My condolences to your family.
    R.I.P. my friend

John, I am in shock as well. I went to high school with Keoki (Katella in Anaheim) and was delighted he was at my table at our 40 year reunion in 2016. It was so wonderful to get to talk and catch up. I had always liked him. He died on my birthday. 😪 I’m glad you got to work with him. Sending you a hug. Jean in Costa Mesa

Keoki, a truly fine man, good friend, kind soul and respected Firefighter. I’ve never known anyone better. We lived the best of times on our tours in Battalion 2, and especially F.S. 55. Rest In Peace now my friend.

I agree Lorenzo, I really didn’t get to work around Keoki very much, but when I did I really enjoyed his easy going personality. Rest In Peace my Brother as well.

Kevin, this is Eric in Vegas, what happened? This is so extremely sad and such an incredible shock to just now learn of this. Your dad was a phenomenal person and a great friend. I had texted him a few times recently, but had gotten no reply. I decided to do a Google search and came across this site. I’m in shock and I can’t believe it, and I am soooo very sorry. He will be missed terribly by all who knew him, and my deepest sympathies go out to you and the rest of the family. 😭😭😭

Keoki and I worked, as Staff Assistants for over 7 years, in Battalion 2. I was on the “A” shift and He was “C”. He was always ready to help and we accomplished a lot,! We always tried our best taking care of the BC’s and the Members of our Battalion! It was always, a good thing, to see his smiling face! He always had some amusing story to tell! I will miss him greatly, and see him some day, in glory! Rest In Peace Keoki my Friend! God Bless his family in this time of sorrow!

I am saddened and stunned, to hear of the sudden passing of Keoki. We came on the job together. He was always humble and easy to talk to. His Dad was warm and friendly towards me as well. I will say a prayer for you tonight, my brother. Aloha…and peace be upon you.

I first met Keoki at 58’s. He was a tenured FF on the A shift and I came in on the B just off probation. Didn’t matter. It took me no time to realize was a valuable go to guy for help. He led by example, was a complete fireman and demonstrated that you didn’t have to be the loudest person in the room to be a good firefighter. He was also a skilled tile setter who shared his knowledge with me that led to many side jobs. Years later we worked together again as firemen at 35’s. Always the gentleman with positive energy and professional attitude Keoki was a fine man I felt honored to have worked with and call a friend. My deep condolences to his family.

There is no better mark of a great individual than receiving as many heart warming messages as Keoki has. I can only echo much of what every one else has. He and his signature smile will truly be missed.
