Greg was a rookie who came through batallion 3 in the early 70’s… when I was there at 54’s. He was well-liked, and he fit in well with the guys. He had a loose and positive approach. Greg could be trusted when the chips were down. RIP

Greg was a good guy and a mellow one. A great fireman. There were four of us in the study group from San Pedro and we worked hard for the honor of achieving this job. Proudly we all graduated and enjoyed this career. God bless his family at this time.
Raul Miranda says

Greg was my Engineer at F.S. 25 in the early 80’s. I will always have a special place in my heart for Greg, he was a great impact on us during our time spent with him. ” Greg I’m glad you where a part of my life” Love you

And Greg was my Explorer advisor @ 25’s for a few minutes, really REALLY looked up to him and remember how he was looking forward to driving a “real fire truck” again when he bid out of 25’s (the FORD/American La France) and sadly lost touch after he left. Thoughts and prayers to the family

Steve, please drop me a note
Mike Hilliger says
Greg Meliota was a true character, who from the time he was a rookie would speak his mind freely. We worked together in Battalion 3. A competent fire fighter and Engineer. Greg always added life and fun in every place that he worked. I enjoyed the times that we spent together even when I was the brunt of one of his jokes. Greg will be missed.
May our Lord be with him and his family.
