Gene was a good friend to many of us. The humor and good times we shared was precious. My condolences to Carol and the boys. RIP Gene.

Gene and I came on together, always a easy going person. A great asset to the FD.YOUR family should be very proud of you.

R.I.P. Gene.
It was a pleasure working with you.
David Pisarev says
Gene and I came on the FD together. I can still hear him call cadence while we marched around Drill Tower 89. We also were partners on RA27 for a little more than one year back in 1981. We laughed a lot and wondered how we got into this mess. A great group of people like Glen Smith, Gary Sidel, Capt Nip, Capt Palace, Horwedel, and Jeff Taylor, just to name a few. Gene was just a few months older than me when we joined the FD. Thirty years old was the limit then. It was a pleasure working with you my old friend.
Mike Hilliger says
I can’t believe that Gene is gone so soon. We worked around each other for most of our careers. We went to “Weck Tech” together and made Captain on the same list. Gene was always cool to be around with his dry wit and quick tongue. Gene you will be missed by many! (Matthew 11:29-30)
