Ed was a great guy and a hard worker. I always enjoyed talking with him. He really tried hard to help everyone and tried to get along with all the members in the station. Ed we will truly miss you!!! Vance Boos

I had the opportunity to work with Ed at Fire Station 71 in Bel Air and he was an interesting chap. He had some tales to tell; some were tall tales others small. His wife Norma was a very kind-hearted woman and I will miss them both. I read that Norma left this world less than a week after Ed; my heart goes out to their children and families. To lose a husband and dad is tough, to lose a wife and mother within a week is overwhelming grief. Requiesce in Pace Ed and Norma.
Allen Norman says
Edward Winston Davidson was an institution within the LAFD. With is many talents, both medical and artistic, he was joy to work around. He was a big time SOD Hog, and worked all around the city. You always knew that he was in quarters when you saw his Honda 550 with the blue milk crate strapped to the back of his machine. He was a favourite with both the EMS and fire sides of the Department.
How shall I say this-but Eddie was bald with a red spot on the top of his dome. When somebody would call attention to it and ask him if he wanted to be a Soviet Premier double, he would give you the infamous Davidson stink eye and say “don’t mess with me PAL”! If he called you “PAL,” you weren’t.”
Rest in peace PAL, a true patron of the arts.

I had the pleasure of working with Ed as both a Firefighter and a Captain I. Vance Boos is absolutely right… Ed was a great guy, a hard worker and got along well everyone. The Lead PM’s housework responsiblity at old 5’s was the front office. You could always count on Ed to empty the trash and mop the floor first thing in the morning no matter how inconvenient it may have been for the Captains. Thank you for your service, and R.I.P. with your lovely wife my friend.
