CII Chris Bustamante says
I’ve had the honor and privilege to have known and work beside Cecil Morris for over 23 years. No words can describe how much I’m going to miss my brother Cee Mo. He was a true gentleman with a heart of gold. His Colgate smile and infectious laugh will never be forgotten. Cecil was strong in his faith and was always there for me if I ever needed him. God has called him home and one day I will see him again. I am forever grateful for your friendship !
…love you Cee Mo,
your Brother in Christ – Bustee

Although I was a ‘Fire sister’ of Captain Morris, I never knew him through the LAFD. I attended the same church in Palmdale as the Morris family, so I was able to see him in that environment. It has been such a blessing to be connected to Anita’s updates as #cemostrong has been going through this last year of his life. Their love of the Lord is so strong. I was able to watch as his LAFD family, built them a beautiful backyard, visited him, snuck in pizzas, and just plain loved on him. His legacy as a man, father and firefighter is obviously that of love, integrity and brotherhood. He exemplified all that any of us should reach for in our lives. Anita has the assurance that she will be with him again, and I for one will be overjoyed to see them united. Prayers now for Anita and their 2 sons.

Cecil, you were an outstanding rookie with us at 88’s and I was glad and proud to have you on the truck with me. As a rookie you were eager to learn and as you progressed willing to teach others. The laugh, smile and glint in your eye were infectious. I will never forget you Brother, rest in peace you have answered your last alarm.
Doug Zabilski says
Those who have experienced the good fortune of working with Cecil know firsthand that an assignment cannot prove too exhausting if the fatigue is balanced by purpose and laughter. Like an incoming tide that raises all boats, Cecil’s mere entrance into a room would lift the spirits of all around. His signature smile and contagious laugh were the perfect complement to the skilled professionalism he brought to every incident.
I will always cherish the memories of our time together as RA partners and I hope that in some way, I can reflect the spirit that defined him. Godspeed my brother – may the imprint of your memory and the echo of your laugh remain fresh and loud until we meet again…
