As a parent finding out your child has been diagnosed with diabetes can be scary. What do you do? Where do you turn? The Los Angeles Firemen’s Association can give you relief in a number of ways. Retired LAFD Fire Captain I Brian Allen describes how the Relief Association was there for him and his family and why the LAFRA PPO Medical Plan is so valuable.
The plan that will get you through tough times
As members of the Los Angeles Firemen’s Relief Association, Brian and his family have received many benefits and services during their time of need. What a relief it is to have an organization and PPO Medical Plan that assists you through trying times and cares for you personally. The plan is designed by LAFD firefighters for LAFD firefighters. It gives you the ability to reach out directly to the Relief Association for one-on-one personalized service and assistance with your questions and needs. You can speak with a person…unlike other plans where it may be hard to even get someone on the phone.
Since 1906, Los Angeles City Firefighters have entrusted the L.A. Firemen’s Relief Association to be there for them and those they leave behind. The needs of firefighters are unique because the profession poses many dangers and consequences. Founded on the mission of “firefighters helping firefighters,” the Relief offers programs and assistance for firefighters and their families.
The Relief (LAFRA) PPO medical plan offers extraordinary coverage, including long-term care, plus a wellness plan with free gym memberships and more. It is your chance to make sure you have the best medical coverage at the lowest possible cost. The plan allows you to use any provider and offers an unlimited lifetime maximum. It is designed by our firefighters for our firefighters. No insurance company gets in the middle of your care or decides what your coverage looks like. Enrollment for you as a firefighter, along with one dependent is FREE. And, you do not need to meet a high deductible before benefits apply.
The plan covers most in-network benefits at 100% after the copay. If you or your qualifying family members are not already covered by the Relief PPO Medical Plan, be sure to sign-up in the next Open Enrollment period, usually held each April and October.
