I was very fortunate to have Rudy as my paramedic partner at 66’s.. He was soft spoken, always street smart , and an excellent paramedic…. He was very open and honest about his life… Just an excellent partner..
Rudy Tra-men-dez as he called himself, It was truly a pleasure to work with him at old F.S. 66, back in the 1980’s. I remember one morning and it was raining and the paramedic were wearing their yellow regulation LAFD rain coats. They returned to the station and told us they had here 3rd run of the morning with no survivors. The ER nurses at Daniel Freeman call Rudy and his partner Greg Rayner the Killer Bees. Rest in peace my friend your work is done.
I concur with Cap Doowayne… Rudy T. Mendez….what’s the T. stand for Rudy?
“TRA-MEND-OUS”! Good times at 1715 W. Florence (old 66’s). A great team with Rudy(P3) and Candy(P2)
on the RA, (black pants and white shirts, blue jumpsuits). That ’84 B shift crew was always up to something with Capt Murphy; Capt Warth; A/O Sawyer; Engr Sanchez and Engr Howell (Col.Bates); FF Paiz; FF Atlas; FF Vidovich;
FF Page; FF Miranda. Fun times and good work! Rest in Peace Rudy.
