Tyre & I worked together at FS-1-A in 1986 as he was running for President of the Relief Association. He was a sincere and honest man. Glad to have him working for all of us as he became President of the LAFRA! RIP my friend.

Denise Alvarado says
Tyre was my “tailboard” partner at Fire Station 44 over 29 years ago. He was an incredible partner and family friend. His recipe catalog was endless and he never used a cookbook. I cherished his knowledge and he was an incredible mentor. I wish his death notice would have shared he was one of our “Relief Association Presidents” and did huge things for our members. One of a kind gentleman. Will always cherish my young years with this caring human.

Joseph Wood says
I never came close to knowing Tyre Wood, though we do share the same last name, but I have used a recipe of his for Turkey Albondigas Soup, found in “The New Firefighter’s Cookbook”, for the past 27 years. It is a keystone in our family holiday tradition.
Thank you Tyre for your dedication to the Fire Service, and for your passion for cooking, which is what allowed me to cross your path decades ago.
