Well, it was another stunning day on the sands of Santa Monica Beach. The Dave Moorman “It’s All Good” Over the Line Tourney got back underway after a year off. Fourteen teams took to the beach for some friendly competition. New to the event was Santa Monica FD and Culver City Fire. It was also good to see Kern County Fire return to defend their champion title. The remaining teams were made up of active and retired members from all over the City. Represented were members from: Fire Stations 89, 15, 33, 38, 69 and 105, all here for a little sun and camaraderie. The format was the same as years past, pool play, which was three games followed by single elimination. All the teams were split into two flights for the single elimination. The “A” flight championship came down to a game between Grey & Still Hangin’ vs. FS 33. After falling behind early, Grey & Still Hangi’n’ came back to win 10-4. The “B” flight was won by Antelope Valley College, they squeaked by Culver City 12ers 15-14.

I would like to thank all of the volunteers; without them it would have been impossible to put this tourney on. Special thanks to Tommy Czubek, Brett and Sandy Davis, Clint Arrigoni, Greg Gourley and Doak Smith. I would also like to thank Cronies from Newbury Park for donating the food. Just a reminder to save the date June 19-24. This is when the 2022 California Firefighter Games will be back in San Diego. OTL will be held on June 20th, at Mariners Point in Mission Bay.
I HOPE TO SEE YA OUT THERE, BE SAFE!
