I worked with Ron at OLD 94’s in 1972, he was a Hell of a Firefighter and a very interesting character. RIP my friend.
Worked with ‘bulldog’ over 45 years ago at 64’s. He had some amazing experiences that he shared with us about parachute jumps. A true LAFD character that I was fortunate to share time with on the job. RIP
Ron and I worked on the tailboard of Engine 27 – I was a third house rookie and learned a lot of good firefighting skills from him. And I heard and witnessed some unbelievable stories and experiences. One of those real characters of the LAFD. RIP Ron –
A few years back I went SCUBA diving in Costa Rica and I looked up and spent some time with Ron while I was there. We hit a few bars and he knew everybody in town including politicians and lady’s of the night and he introduced me to all of them. He was married to a local gal that was some kind of local of office holder. He seemed to be enjoying life there and was still the same character we all knew.
I also worked with Ron at FS 64. Boy what a Fireman, what a kick to be around to listen to and learn from. Last I heard he retired to Costa Rica to dabble in real estate.
RIP Ron
MY HERO.
