Laurie Carrick Moore says
My father, Ray Carrick was a friend of Romy’s. It was a good group in the harbor. We kids had a lot of fun and memories of the picnic at the police shooting range. My dad has long passed away and my husband, Ron Moore is retired out of 17’s but great memories live forever. Our son, Mike Moore is also on LAFD. So many families lived in San Pedro back then and loved the community. ROMY was a good person. I see so many names of his era come through on these notices and it reminds me of a lot of memories. The LAFD has such a brotherhood. It is something to be proud of. Thank you Romy for your dedication and may God comfort your family. Laurie Carrick Moore

I remember Ray Carrick at the West Lake Signal Office back in the 1970’s. One of the old guys faster and better at dispatching than the computer. Good guy. Rest in peace my friend.

My deepest condolences to the Meacham Family. Jim, I met your Dad one time up at the Terrances in San Pedro, I was with Capt Stan Jones on Engine 53 – He stopped by to say hello to his old Engine Company.
I enjoyed working with Romy’s son Jim at FS 12’s for four years. Once again, sorry for your loss. May your father rest in the arms of Jesus.

I just heard about Romy who was a Godfather of my brother. Romy and my Dad were great friends and Romy’s Dad, “Big Romy”, was a great friend of my Grandfather. All of them menders of LAFD. All of us born or raised in San Pedro. Great man.
