We all with miss you with your st0res and jokes. I remember one time you kept me from making a big mistake with one of our Bozo Chief’s. You drove the car around the parking lot until the Chief’s door was against the fence and I could not get to him. Fire was out and under control at building next to Burbank. The Burbank chief and I were talking he kept trying to run the fire from Div 3. and while to the incident. Burbank Chief have them to.

Bob you left us way too early. You were a pleasure to work around.. I will never forget the time you helped me
put in a second shower, shower pan and plumbing. You showed me how to use white bread to stick in the copper pipes before trying to solder the joints. It prevent water from being drawn into the solder. Then you showed me how to take off the screens at each faucet to flush out the bread. You showed up in Orange County at 0700 hrs. and worked past midnight because you lived so far away. Rest in peace. bob neamy

I never worked with Klop but got to know him as he has been the commissioner of the Kern County retired LAFD guys’ breakfast club in Tehachapi for some time. Nothing but positive encounters and great stories centering around a fine fireman and dedicated family man. Bob had more than his share of challenges in recent years of retirement but they never kept him from duty to family and friends. Even gave him fodder for some upbeat stories. Bob, your trials and tribulations of this world are over. Rest In Peace. Start a breakfast club on the other side with Jerry, Don, Roger and save some seats for the rest of us…if we’re worthy. My condolences to the family.

Klop was a real beauty. I learned a lot from him when I was a young fireman. He saw that I was cooking a lot and taught me to maximize house dues and storing sale items for meals. He also introduced me to a couple of butchers he knew in the area. I was able to assume the permanent cook role under his tutelage. He was also a strong “why don’t yah” guy, guiding me through numerous turd rolling missions. Several stories come to mind as I read Neamy’s comments as Klop was front and center when someone needed help with a project. He was a Volunteer Fireman. He was old fire department and helped make the job great. Rest in Peace Bob. Thanks

Klop was on the C shift at 14’s with Bill Lowe and I I was the A/O on the B shift. Lots of SOD days together. Klop was one of those unforgettable characters, always involved in something. I always enjoyed working with him, many stories. Rest In Peace my friend.

Klop did the rough (in-ground) plumbing on a home I was having built in Thousand Oaks, that’s where I first met him. It was tough getting him on site to do the job, but once he was there, he knocked the whole job out in one day. Klop told me: ” have a couple of workers there I can use for digging and I’ll be in and out in one day…he was right! We worked together numerous times when I was assigned to Batt. 17. I found him to be very knowledgeable at.his job and fun to spend time with as we travelled around the battalion and responded to incidents. We kept in touch after we both retired but in recent years our communications were scarce. I didn’t know he was dealing with health challenges. My condolences to his family.

I was a very young wet behind the ears Chiefs adjutant in Battalion 5 that Klop kindly took under his wing to mentor. I learned a lot from him and enjoyed working in Batt 5 with him. As everyone that knows Klop, he was not shy about sharing his opinion or thoughts on many matters! Sorry to hear of his passing. May he Rest In Peace. Condolences to his family

Klop was definitely an unforgettable character. He was great around the Fire House and was a terrific plumber who always found time to help his fellow firefighters. Bob had an incredible love for his family and his wife and would keep a stash of Hallmark love cards for his wife in his locker. When he worked several days in a row, he would mail one of these cards to his wife, telling her how much he loved and appreciated her. Bob drove me on numerous SOD days and I could always expect a request from Bob to stop off at the Post Office, so he could mail one of these cards to his wife. I am sorry I did not know he was ill but grateful for the life lessons he taught me. RIP Klop
