It seems like old 45’s is having a reunion up above. Mel Marion a few days back, and now “Pete”. I finished my probation in 1963 at 45’s. “Pete” (as he was affectionately known) was one of our crew. We worked together there for at least 3 years. A nicer guy does not exist. Our crew spent time together off duty as well including water ski trips, fishing, work parties, etc. Pete was the best of us at planning involved, diabolical “turds”. He was always saying things like “you know what we should do”?? and then when the turd happened somehow he was never to blame. When he and I burned up an avocado orchard while supervising a lot burning crew with Booster Tank 45, somehow he convinced our Captain that I had been in charge that day so I had to fill out all of the reports. Typical Pete. I will always remember him with his pipe held in his teeth, only taking it out long enough to point at something with the pipe stem to emphasize a point.
Rest well, old friend.

Did Peterson ever work 14s, live in a old factory build and play with hang guilders.?
Bill Robinson says
It’s possible, Pete was always doing something like the living in a factory thing.
