Renthal, LTD, a global leader in the manufacturing, design and sales of motorcycle, ATV, cycle parts and accessories, is revved up about the annual Hook and Ladder Enduro. For more than a decade, the company has been a key sponsor of this exciting, off-road racing event, donating financial support as well as products.
One of the coolest items they give is the parts needed to make the coveted trophies (pictured here), put together by one of the event organizers, Bruce Galien, retired LAFD.
“We provide him with sprockets,” said Brad Cameron of Renthal. “These sprockets are for actual dirt bikes.” Bruce then creates a very unique and special prize.
Brad enjoys seeing the winners get these one-of-a-kind trophies. “They are very excited, they love it!”
Renthal also donates clothing, t-shirts, sweatshirts, hats, handlebars and more for the event raffle.
“For us it’s about supporting the firefighters,” he said. “It’s for a good cause and we try to help out with a lot of charities throughout the year in different parts of the nation. We always have items we’re willing to donate for silent auctions to help raise money.”
Brad first learned about the Hook and Ladder Enduro and the Widows & Orphans through LAFD Battalion Chief and charity Board of Trustee Craig White, who used to race Baja. After getting parts for his race bike from the company, Craig asked if Renthal would support the Enduro. It’s turned into a long-lasting and highly-valued sponsorship.
Brad, who grew up riding motorcycles with his family, says many customers are firefighters. “There are a lot of firemen that like to ride motorcycles and a lot of them like to ride off-road.” He adds, “It’s definitely a family-oriented sport, off-road riding out in the desert.”
The ability to bring the whole gang is part of what makes the weekend Enduro event so popular year after year.
“Renthal started in England in 1969, so we’ve been around for a long time,” Brad said. “We are one of the leading brands in our industry for handlebars, grips, sprockets, chains and things like that for all kinds of motorcycles, not just dirt bikes, but street bikes, ATVs and more.”
In 1975 the company entered the motocross market, eventually expanding into the US market in the early 1990’s. In 2010, Renthal added cycle products and is already one of the world’s leading, premium mountain bike brands.
Brad is honored to learn about the people Widows & Orphans helps, and subscribes to the charity’s monthly newsletter. “It’s great knowing that it’s going toward a good cause, which is the most rewarding part.”
