I promoted to “AutoFireman” in 73 and went to 17’s on the “Fun C,Shift”, but I remember Leo well, as he was short, and drove the tallest Engine on the LAFD (now at the Hollywood Museum) Leo was a bit on the “Gruff” side but did his job well and although 17’s didn’t go to a lot of fires, they certainly went to some big ones,
May you “Rest in Peace” after serving the City well.
My father Leon Kolb was a fireman at 17’s also and worked with Leo.
I knew Leo Through doing electrical work with him and my dad.
He always had a thermos with good hot coffee. He was a good man.
“Rest in Peace”
