Generations: a culmination of time, family, and tradition. The LAFD is filled with such customs. A time-honored tradition of passing down information from one generation to another. The following pages are filled with snapshots of generations of firefighters: grandfathers, fathers, sons, daughters, brothers, uncles and even a few In-laws. However, this collection of photos are more than just snap-shots in time, these photographs are who we are—FAMILY!

We have received an overwhelming response for this article, unfortunately, a number of members were not able to contribute in time to participate. With this in mind, if we receive enough additional interest, we would like to do a follow-up piece in a future edition to give any remaining interested members ample time to submit their information. A FIRM DEADLINE OF June 1, 2021 will be enforced. Don’t delay. PLEASE submit an electronic file of pictures of family members (please do not mail pictures in. If you are having trouble, ask for help from a family member or our staff.) We would prefer a group shop but individual pictures are accepted; along with names, final rank, and service dates. Example would be: Frank B. Ready. Captain I. April 7, 1985 to February 29, 2020. Please send all requested information to Editor@Lafra.org. This has been a challenging assignment for all involved and we have done our best to be as accurate as possible. We apologies for any one mistakenly left out or incorrect information printed. We will try and correct any mistakes in the future edition.
