I met Jack while I was on probation at 95’s in 1960.. He had just got off the plane from Chicago and saw the sign “Firemen Wanted” in front of the Station. He was ‘interested in joining so we sat down and went over the testing process and the oral. A year later I saw him at a fire. Soon after his brother Jim joined him. Two Irish guys from Chicago. Both were Marines and served our country in Korea. Jack returned to Chicago when he retired. Jim passed away a couple years ago.

Jack and I were partners in the Background Unit for two years. He served with dedication and fairness always with the good of the Department in mind. He served in the field the same way.

Semper Fi Jack and God Bless
