Generations – Part III

January 1, 2022

In the January 2021 edition of the Firemen’s Grapevine, we first published the column entitled “Generations.” Over 50 different families participated. After that, we started receiving request for a part two—and we delivered in July of 2021. Guess what, more request has come in, and so, without further ado, here is part three for all to enjoy. Will there be a part four? Only time will tell. If we get enough interest, we will do our best to bring it to you. For now, for your enjoyment—Generations—Part III.

Thank you for viewing Generations III. We hoped you have enjoyed walking through a bit of LAFD family history, combined with the present. We apologies for any found mistakes as this was a very challenging assignment. As mentioned above, if we get enough interest, we will look into a part four. So, if you missed out on the past opportunities to display your family pride, please feel free to submit a family picture, along with the name, final or current rank, and times of service of the concerned members. When or if we get enough submission, we will do our best to get it out to you. Please submit the information electronically or contact us directly and we can help. Send information as following. Example: John Doe. Firefighter III. 1985 to 2020. PLEASE follow this EXACT format. Send picture(s) and information to editor@LAFRA.org.

President’s Message – September 2023

Welcome to September, the first month of the fall season. The name September comes from the Latin word "septem," meaning seven, as it was the seventh month of the Roman calendar, which began with March. There are 30 days … Continue Reading about President’s Message – September 2023
