Fred Miller was my EMT instructor back in 2005 and i always re certified with him. He was a funny, caring, and great person and he will be missed. 👩🚒🚑
LAFD Paramedic Fred Miller taught EMT Classes at LA Valley College in the Emergency Services Department for many many years. As a Firefighter at FS 102 in the early 90’s, I recall assisting Fred’s EMT Classes in demonstrations of vehicle extrication and physical rescues. Fred always engaged his classes with humor and practical wisdom. Many first responders today are demonstrating Fred’s Care, Commitment, and Concern to Others on a daily basis.
Rest Well Sir,
Rick Erquiaga
Fred was my supervisor back in 1985 when i started at MEDEVAC ambulance in Pasadena. At the time his personal vehicle was a old Marathon checker cab , painted blue for $29.95 ! Everything Fred ever did was unique and got the job done ! Always ready to make a joke his dedication to prehospital care was unquestionable. He always looked tired to me and is it any wonder with all the things he was involved in. Yet he never stopped reinventing EMS deliverly whether it was the LAFD ,Infield EMS, Baker to Vegas,EMT instruction at LACC and so many other projects.Fred will be greatly missed by all who knew him because lets be honest,There was and always will be, only one Fred miller.
I am just learning about this. I know he was not feeling too well the last time I seen him, when I was doing my skills testing for my re-cert as an EMT. I always used to go to him for my re-cert classes and skills testing for 10 years, and I am sad to learn he has passed away. He was a wonderful, caring, funny, and helpful man, and he will be missed in the EMS community,
Fred Miller. Thank you for giving every EMT unbias attention. No matter wherever ragged emt company one came from. You gave everyone a fair opportunity without the attitude of ricky rescues . It pains us and we miss you dearly. Thank you and your crew for the wonderful years of continuing education.
