I had the honor and privilege to work with Frank his last 11 years on the job. Frank was the complete package. An excellent Engineer. A wonderful husband and father. A tremendous friend. Most of all he was one of the most caring, genuine people I’ve ever met. Frank never had a bad day. Always a smile. Just about every morning Frank would come into the office, sit in the chair by the desk and just talk. My family, his family and everything in between. Before he would get up and leave he would ask what I needed done that day. He was the consummate professional and a true gentleman. My deepest sympathy and condolences to Frank’s wife Lynda, his children Nikki and Kevin and all of his grandchildren. I shouldn’t speak for others, but on behalf of the “C shift” crew from 101’s including myself, Tommy, Bill, Louis, Gabe, Gerry and Jim. So long Frank. RIP my friend.

Met Frank in the late 80’s when he was contemplating becoming a fire inspector. He was a very nice guy. Ultimately decided to stay an Engineer at 101’s. I would see him periodically in San Pedro prior to his retirement. He has left us way to soon. Rest In Peace and my thoughts and prayers to his family.

My parents lived across the street from Frank and Lynda in Long Beach, and my husband and I would visit often. We have happy memories of sharing meals, drinks or just chit chat with Frank and Lynda. David and I will miss those times.
Frank was amazing. In his later years, my dad lost his leg, and would routinely fall out of bed or out of his wheel chair. My dad had taped Frank’s phone number to the back of his portable phone and would give him a call at any emergency. Frank was always there to help him up and make him smile, as if it were no big deal. But it was! My parents benefited from Frank’s firehouse cooking skills couple with Lynda’s own culinary expertise.. Even though I lived 500 miles away, I was always confident that when I wasn’t in Long Beach, angels named Frank and Lynda were watching out for my folks.
As a burn survivor myself, I’ve come to understand that the soul of a firefighter is brave, generous and kind. Frank was all of those and more. Thank you, Frank, and rest in peace.
