Local firefighters were invited to attend and then honored at the LA Galaxy soccer game on March 31, 2018, at the Stub Hub Center. Captains Darin Laier and Ryan Penrod took to the field, and they, along with all firefighters, were recognized for their service to the community. Each of the captains were presented with a Galaxy jersey bearing their name and also a “62’S” jersey autographed by the team.
Prior to the game, firefighters were stationed at each of the four stadium entrances for a “fill the boot” drive for our Widows, Orphans & Disabled Firemen’s Fund. Fans were then invited to have their photos snapped with a firefighter at a booth inside the stadium. LAFRA’s Widows & Orphans Fund was also the beneficiary of a portion of the firefighter ticket sales.
