Ed Deane was my first TFC back in the early ’80’s. All around good guy, that provided great leadership.
He ran a smooth command, and always went the extra mile to ensure morale was up among his crews.
He was firm, yet practical, and a highly respected station commander that always looked out for his guys.
Thanks for the good times Ed! Rest in Peace Cap.

Thank you for the kind words about my grandfather. I’ve been trying to find a way to get any info about the things he did during his career.

Hello, I just saw your post. As I said your grandfather was one of my first captains on the LAFD.
I will give you another resource for you to find more info about him. Mickey Plante
was the other captain with Ed at FS 70 where we worked. He will have more info about Ed
since they were good friends on and off the job. He says you may call him at (805) 495-4228.

Your grandfather was introduced to me in the early 70’s. through my dad who worked with him. I met your grandfather in Bullhead city Arizona at his Mobil home. We would launch our boats on the Colorado river. So much fun! He would wear a Smokey the bear hat in his boat. He would then say “Wagons Hooo” as we followed him down river in our own boats. He also let me ride his gold Honda 70cc motorcycle . If I remember right his son was Mike and daughter kristy. I later became a FF 1986. for the same Dept. Great memories. I’m still going to BHC all these years later.
