Widows & Orphans (The official charity of the Firemen’s Relief Association) is proud to be a member of the eBay Giving Works program, which allows anyone selling items on eBay to raise money for the charity. Through the kindness of our community sellers, we’ve not only raised funds to support firefighter families, we’ve spread awareness of the Widows, Orphans & Disabled Firefighter’s Fund to bargain hunters across the country.
Supporting the families of LAFD firefighters is as easy as visiting our Giving Works page, which has both a step-by-step guide to listing Giving Works auctions and a list of all of the auctions currently supporting our charity.
What type of items are the best to sell on eBay?
Follow the simple tips below to see if you have the perfect auction items to help us raise money.
- While eBay was once known as the “garage sale” of the Internet, many bidders these days are primarily looking for new items. However, it’s still a great marketplace if you have used items in like-new condition or of some significant value (antiques, collectibles, designer clothing and accessories, musical instruments, etc.)
- Items that are small and lightweight are among the easiest to sell because the shipping cost is the lowest for the bidder. However, eBay does allow auctions to be listed as requiring local pickup. eBay Motors remains a great venue for selling cars and other vehicles.
- Collections and sets are especially popular with buyers, as it gives them the chance to get more of the items they want at once.
