Firefighter Walts is a former Relief Association Trustee serving Battalion 9 in 1973 and 1974.
Earl and I met on February 20, 1960, when we reported to DT-89 as rookies. Earl and I sat side by side during our training. A year later Earl was the “best man” at my wedding to my wife Arleen. Over the years we kept contact together, although we never worked together. Earl enjoyed his promotion and assignment as a
Captain I to a single engine, fire station. Earl was one of those persons who you instantly liked when you first met him.
