I enjoyed being around Don back in the day. He was my C1 at old 66,s when I was a rookie there. Always a smile a great attitude ,and dependable. some one to look up to for a probationary fireman. RIP my friend. You will be missed…

I don’t remember when or where I first met Don. He has seemed like an old friend from the beginning.. We worked opposite each other at Fives and it was always a pleasure to catch up at change of shift. Also a pleasure was salmon fishing at Trinidad with Don along with Bill Rose, Bob Olsen, Don Wilde, Ted Cota, Bob LaFlamme and some of our wives. Those were the days my friends, especially at the Samoa Cookhouse.

Margitta and I offer our deepest condolences to Ruth.

Don, I was sorry to learn of your passing. I remember the good times we had at the Grass Valley Reunion for a number of years. You and a number of the retired firefighters there were from an earlier generation of the fire department when the fire department had a personality. Which lead to many great stories. How things have changed. Your work is done my friend so rest in peace. You will be missed. Duane Warth LAFD ret.
