2011 Bill Goss Scholarship Winner

Michael Bush is this year’s winner of the $2,500 Bill Goss Scholarship. Michael is pursuing a business degree from the University of California, Berkeley. He also will play for the rugby team and hopes to attend graduate school.

“This scholarship will help me in providing more time both for school and while I’m playing sports,” says Bush, “It will be a big help for time management, allowing me not to have to work or do work-study so that I can focus on my academics and athletics.”

Q & A

How will receiving this scholarship help you in your own studies and in making a difference in the community?

“With a lot more time not having to worry about the money situation, I’ll definitely have more time to get involved both on and off campus with clubs and extracurricular activities. This kind of involvement I think will help me make more connections and eventually get a job later on.”

What is your ultimate career goal?

“I definitely want to do something in business, either in management or accounting. I am interested specifically in the banking industry and the stock market, but at this point I really just want to further my education and see where it takes me.”
