James Murad says
I was so sorry to hear about Stew. He was the first fireman I met at fs 4 in 1976. Stew was a great man and good friend, he helped me out during that first house on probation. I can’t believe he left us so soon.
Kevin Kearns says
I worked at 4’s, and Stew would come up to the room where the rookies studied at night and tell us stories about fires he had been to and what he learned. He shared so much knowledge with us. He didn’t have to, he could have just watched TV or played racquet ball but he chose to teach us instead. What a guy!
Michael Hilliger says
Stew was a class act, from the time we met in Battalion 1, to his later years as an Engineer. He was a true professional and a good friend. He was always willing and able to teach rookies and other members the finer points of being an Engineer. May God bless and keep him! May God comfort and keep his family at this difficult time
