Jack "Ed" Sandell says
My recollection is…I met Jerry at FS 14 in 1972. I was a rookie there, and Jerry was a well-respected fireman who carried himself with dignity. What made the “good old days” so good…was individuals like Jerry. RIP brother. “Ed” Sandell
Mike Bowers says
I won’t forget handball at 2AM after a fire. It was “Great to be Eight”
Don Wallace says
Aggressive firefighter… willing overhauler… terror at the slop sink after return to quarters… seemed harder on rookies than he really was… always up for a turd… #9 for accuracy with a bucket… dangerous at mixed company parties… we never knew what he would say… Good athlete with a matching ego… always ready to join a work party for a needy Brother… Good friend who suffered long and hard due to aftereffects of job exposures. Amazingly resilient after painful and debilitating surgeries. My stream of consciousness memories of Jerry are all good. My sympathies to his wonderful wife Jill and their sons Doug and Drew.
